Spaceship Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk
Church of Our Lady (Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk), Bruges, Belgium.
This photo appeals to me for several reason. I like the perspective, the colors, and the lighting on the bridge’s stones and through the stained glass window. I also like how the tower looks like a rocket ship next to the church, which resembles a moon lander.
I believe church architecture is intended to send thoughts towards heaven and its most important occupant. When I look at the Church of Our Lady at night, my thoughts are turned upward, but towards the heavens, not heaven. Even so, thinking of the vastness of space and all its occupants leaves me full of awe.

A new set of pictures…And all of these were taken early in the morning…I guess my inspiration was the water this time.

Owls: An artist’s favorite muse
Hey everyone!
Obviously, owls have completely taken over our current art and design theme with a pretty big impact. Owls are so powerful, and yet, somehow adorable and sweet. But I have to admit, I was a little extra excited to find these drawings by Vincent van Gogh and Albrecht Durer! Somehow it felt like validation that our art scene is on a good path. I mean, these guys are the real deal! They’re called master for a reason!
So draw away, owl lovers. You’re in good company.
1. John Pusateri | 2. Aubree Eisenwinter | 3. Juri Romanov | 4. Joseph Bradley
These are four of my personal “owl” faves by four outstanding artists and designers.
What about you? What is your favorite thing to draw or create?
The weekend is almost here and I hope you have some lovely plans! This weekend…

Someone Like You
Hiding in a corner, she hides her lonely tears
Cloaked in depression, she shrivels in fear
Her life has been too hard for most
In her mind, she’s unable to boast
about the strengths she has acquired
by surviving living with a violent liar
Do you see the pain she hides behind smiling eyes?
Can you see her intense and secret wish to die?
Now every night, she quietly wishes on a star or maybe two
that she might meet someone to love her, someone like you
“There are four questions of value in life… What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for, and what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same. Only love.” – Johnny Depp
